GPA conversions are approximate. Universities use their own conversion scales. IB scores are not equivalent to percentage grades - grade boundaries vary by subject, session, and year. An IB 7 does not mean 100%; boundaries are typically set around 70–80% for a 7, varying by subject.

IB Score Benchmarks

| 43–45 | Top ~1% globally — exceptional. Competitive for Oxbridge, Ivy League, and top medical schools. |
| 40–42 | Top ~5% — excellent. Strong for top universities worldwide. |
| 36–39 | Well above average — very competitive for strong universities. |
| 30–35 | Above average — competitive for most universities. |
| 24–29 | Diploma awarded (minimum threshold). Meets entry for many universities. |
| Below 24 | Diploma not awarded (IB Certificates issued for individual subjects). |

CAS (Creativity, Activity, Service) is not scored but must be completed to receive the diploma; it is not included in this calculator.
